MIlford HIgh school 2015-2016
MHS Band
Milford HS Band students Hunter Barnes, tuba, Lucas Hawkins, trumpet, Trenton Okkonen, French horn, and Will Zywicki, trumpet, performed for Milford Preschool students. The Milford HS band students showed the preschool students how the instruments work and even let them try working the valves on their brass instruments. A great time was had by all!

This past week was Staff Appreciation Week. Thank you MHS Staff for all of your hard work and dedication to teaching and making an impact on young lives. The school wouldn't be the same without each and every one of you!

Another year of DECA is over and another starts this week. I wanted to share with you the names of our students that participated and won at the International Career Development Conference (ICDC). Natanee Bruce and Jessica Niemic Top 20 in the (International) Stock Market Analysis Team. Sophie Beck, Nathan Camilleri, and Jake Herrington - 2nd Place in Leadership and Teamwork (Michigan Event) Isabelle Kenhard - Elected Michigan DECA State Officer--Vice President of Leadership Development. Izzie will start her term on Monday, May 2.

Robotics Team!
The HOT Robotics Team finished the 2016 FIRST Robotics World Championship as Newton Division semi-finalists, ranking them in a class with the top 1.5% of the teams in the world.

30 wonderful HVS staff members & parents joined the MHS band playing John Lennon's Imagine at the Milford HS Bands Spring Concert. Thank you to all who contributed.

HOT Robotics
The HOT robotics team was on fire this weekend, winning the Waterford FRC District Competition and scoring the present world record high score of 185 points with the help of their alliance partners (The Killer Bees from Auburn Hills and TriSonics from Allendale)

All-State Choir!
MHS is proud to announce that Hailey Eriksen and Henri Varichon made the All-State Choir and will perform at the Michigan Youth Arts Festival.
Milford Mavericks Girls' Basketball
Girl's basketball won the district championship on Friday, March 4th against their rival, The Lakeland Eagles. The final score was 28-18, eliminating The Lakeland Eagles from play. Mallory Barrett scored 12 and Megan Wallace scored 9 of the 28 points. This is first time the Mavericks have obtained the district championship since 2001. Make sure to congratulate all the girls!

Radium Girls!
Congrats to the cast of Radium Girls who put on a great performance on February 26 and 27. Thank you to Mrs. Weeks for making the show such a success.

Headed To States!!
Congratulations to our DECA students that qualified to States this past weekend. Milford will be represented by 75 students at the State Competition which is one of the largest groups we have ever qualified to the State Finals.

Milford and Muir Team-Up for Homecoming
The Milford High School Leadership and WEB groups teamed up to celebrate this years Homecoming Festivities. The Milford Football Team and Cheerleaders were able to make it out to the Muir Pep Assembly and the Muir WEB group made it to the Milford High School Pep Assembly.

Congratulations to Maddie Appleton. Maddie was one of 5 nominees for the Observer and Eccentric Athlete of the Week. Maddie finished in 2nd in the weekly polls but that doesn’t take away from what she has accomplished thus far in leading the Milford Volleyball team to the KLAA West Division lead. |
